The English Language Learner (ELL) Program at Clover Park High School aims to provide cognitively challenging, interdisciplinary learning that values multilingual and multicultural perspectives as a vital resource for our community.

The program serves students from a variety of language backgrounds in grades 9-12. Students qualify for entry and exit from the program by taking the Washington Language Proficiency Test (WLPT).

ELL curriculum is aligned with the Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs) in reading, writing and communication, as well as the English Language Development (ELD) standards. ELL classes incorporate the four domains of language acquisition - listening, speaking, reading and writing - with emphasis on academic content.

ELL staff and core subject teachers collaborate to implement instructional strategies that increase ELL access to grade-level academic content.
