Roderick William McDonald, 69, passed away peacefully at his home in San Jose, California on Saturday, Jan. 17. He attended Clover Park High School from 1959-63 and graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane in 1967. He was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics basketball team in 1967 and played for the American Basketball Association (ABA) Utah Stars where he played professional basketball from 1970-1973. He was quickly nicknamed “The Rocket” by his teammates and proudly wore the #114 jersey as a member of the 1971 Utah Stars ABA championship team.
